To mark the return of the Olympic summer games to their homeland in 2004, a team of producers, directors, historians, archaeologists, coaches and athletes from six european countries took up the challenge of a unique "historical -sport" experience : a reconstruction of the ancient Olympic Games. They are between 20 and 35 years old, come from all over Europe and are all sporting professionals. Together, they want to go on a trip back in time, to ancient Greece, to re-enact the Olympic Games. For two weeks they will live and train like athletes from the 4th century B.C. to then compete against one another in the stadium at Olympia, in what is not only an exciting sporting event but an fascinating archaeological experiment. |
